The War on Food: Farmy Project

Tonight is the closing reception of Farmy, a community wide art and public spaces project, hosted by our lovely friends at Project 165.

As project participants, we headed back to the Spit yesterday to send-off our war trooper to the wind and document the dramatic drop. Our little guy (cast in clay, compost and turnip seed mixture) found a suitable landing in a tall heap of grass. Though, tragically, his legs were lost on the journey.

Over the course of the month, seedy war troopers have been dropped throughout the city in an effort to instigate community involvement, reclaim public spaces and promote local food use in the city.

For more information on the show and Amanda White's project visit the Farmy website.

**And on a related note, if you have yet to watch Food Inc, a fabulous documentary on the food industry, watch it here now.
