Bloor & Gladstone Library

I don't think I'll be buying anymore books for awhile (unless it's to support a friend). Other than that I've had it with buying books. They just sit there. Accumulating space. Collecting dust. They're heavy. Expensive. In a way it's a little silly and selfish to hoard such knowledge.

Since moving to the neighbourhood I've spent nearly every day at the Bloor & Gladstone Library. I can't help but feel a tang of guilt every time I leave the check-out counter for taking something for nothing. Such a simple concept, borrowing. I am not use to this. I buy. I consume. I throw away. Borrowing? Why isn't the whole world borrowing books?

Today I encourage you to visit your local library branch and take something for nothing. There's no shame. It's a beautiful thing.

Speaking of beautiful, the newly renovated Bloor & Gladstone branch is a work of art.
